Meet the Management Team
Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse franchise is led by a management team with decades of proven experience as a barbecue franchise
Ronnie McFarland, CEO
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Ronnie began his career at the ripe age of twelve years old by working with his father, Eddie, at the Bar-B-Cutie that was located on Murfreesboro Road. In the 1950’s, Nashville was a small town with only a couple of major roads where everybody knew each other; since then, Nashville and Bar-B-Cutie have both grown exponentially. Ronnie’s love for people and good food along with his determination to be the very best are the key factors in Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse franchise’s success.
When he is not in the kitchen, Ronnie has always been a huge part of his community; he has coached several youth basketball, baseball and softball teams and has sponsored countless others. To this day, he can be found at the local ball fields coaching in the spring and fall. His belief that if you take care of those around you, they will do the same in return is proven true every time a customer walks in to the Bar-B-Cutie on Nolensville Road and asks for him by name-usually with a funny story of, “the good ole days,” not far behind.
Ronnie also loves to cook for his family and friends at his home; he is constantly filling their stomachs with new recipes and their hearts with laughter.
Ronnie’s passion for people and desire to grow the business has landed him two locations that he owns and operates in Nashville, Tennessee, a place as an operating partner in Bar-B-Cutie Franchise Systems, LLC and has given him the opportunity to serve as a shareholder in three other operating locations.
Ronnie is also a proud alumni of Middle Tennessee State University and honored to serve in the United States Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Brett McFarland, COO
Brett is a Nashville, Tennessee, native with a keen eye for details. Joining the workforce at fifteen years old, he began working in the dish room at one of his father’s Bar-B-Cutie restaurants. From there he quickly learned his way around the kitchen and developed an interest for the back-of-house procedures.
Later, Brett managed the day-to-day operations at the second company-owned location. The operational experience he gained while in that position helped to establish many of the systems still in place today.
With his eyes set to further himself and the family business, Brett studied business management at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. He now serves as an operating partner in Bar-B-Cutie Franchise Systems, LLC as well as a shareholder in three operating locations. Brett’s passion for developing people has allowed him to also serve a key role in franchise development by working directly with prospective franchisees.
While he isn’t researching how to improve the day-to-day operations of the restaurant or reaching out to franchisees, Brett enjoys spending time at the lake with his family as well as hunting and many more outdoor activities. His absolute favorite menu item at Bar-B-Cutie is the smoked wings straight off the smoker!
